Today I am going to introduce you to a mom who loves learning. Is named Amruta Ram, was born in India, and has a blog ‘Mumma diaries'And a YouTube video channel with the same name, on how to stimulate children with early learning through play. With her 2-year-old son, she has been developing activities inspired by the Montessori method at home, since the little one was 15 months old.
This is Amruta's way of transmitting to her son everything she learned from her best and great teacher: her mother. As a child, she always loved learning through games, reading books, and anything that allowed her to explore. Her mother led her to fall in love with the concept of learning instead of being scared by it, and it taught her much more than her teachers at school did.
In her videos, Amruta Ram plays with her little one, stimulating their motor skills, learning abilities and level of focus. She tells us that 'it is he who motivates me to create the games. I am guided by her signals and her level of interest when designing the activities. 'For the videos, she works 5 days a week, proposing 6 to 12 activities each week, based on the level of understanding and interest of your son. "We do not have a structured plan, we are guiding ourselves little by little."
Convinced that playing with children using very simple and homemade materials is the activity that generates the most stimulation in their development, Amruta offers us some tips for parents to play with their little ones in a calm and fun way:
1- Establish a play area where activities can be organized: one corner is enough.
2- Install a mat or table, and a comfortable chair for your child.
3- Gather safe materials or objects for children. You don't have to spend a lot to create activities for them.
4- To play, focus on your child's interest. You offer him a box and ask him to do something with it, for example. You can do the same with a toy you have at home.
5- The interest of the child is more important than the activity itself.
6- Establish at least half an hour a day to play with your child.
7- Always follow the same formula: ‘Play, explore, learn and repeat’.
